BAF Offers Largest Ford CNG Product Lineup in the Industry

BAF

BAF, a Clean Energy Company, is the leading provider of natural gas vehicle systems and conversions in the United States. The company has received EPA approvals and CARB Executive Orders for its 2013 vehicle lineup, which includes both dedicated CNG vehicles and Bi-fuel CNG vehicles. With the additional vehicles in the product line, BAF retains its position as the company with the most Ford CNG products available in the industry. "No other company—including the OEMs—produce a deeper CNG product line than BAF," said John R. Bacon, BAF President. "Not only do we have more vehicle platforms than anyone else, we also offer more choices and customizations within each platform." BAF has the first Ford F-250/350 pickup truck with an underbody tank package in the industry, giving drivers the use of the full truck bed—something fleets have long desired. The company continues to expand its R&D efforts and is working on adding Lincoln "black car" vehicles to its lineup to better serve limo markets.

Clean Vehicle Tax Breaks Passed by Congress

American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012

On New Year’s Day, Congress passed the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 to avert the “fiscal cliff”. Included in that legislation was a one-year extension of a large number of tax credits—including the tax credit for the sale of CNG and LNG for vehicle use and for the installation of natural gas fueling equipment. Specifically, this is the 50 cent per GGE tax credit for CNG, 50 cent per gallon tax credit for LNG and a $30,000 infrastructure tax credit. The tax credits are extended until December 31, 2013 and are retroactive for all of 2012. “We are extremely pleased that Congress included the 50 cent per gallon alternative fuel tax credit in the American Taxpayer Relief Act. This will help the acceleration of natural gas as a transportation fuel,” commented Clean Energy President Andrew Littlefair. “Hundreds of thousands of vehicles in the U.S. are currently enjoying the environmental and economic benefits of natural gas, an abundant, domestic and cleaner-burning fuel choice. With this action, we anticipate those numbers to rapidly grow.”
